Sylvia Marie Luise Madsack is the only child and heiress of Erich Madsack, the founder of the Madsack Media Group. She currently holds 19.9 per cent of the publishing company Madsack GmbH & Co. KG and thus also of the company's various holdings. Sylvia Madsack studied psychology and is a trained psychologist. She is the author of four novels and worked as a translator for a time. In addition to her stake in the Madsack Media Group, she also has smaller stakes in hotel businesses. Madsack has been living in Switzerland since 2023, where she is the managing director of a Swiss delicatessen company.
The Madsack Group is responsible for several hundred publications, making it one of the largest media groups in Germany. Its portfolio includes not only print products of all kinds, but also investments in radio and television stations as well as shares in companies outside the media sector, such as real estate companies and investment companies. The editorial network Deutschland (RND) also belongs to Madsack. Through the publishing company Madsack, Sylvia Madsack holds investments in over 100 other companies.
In 2023, Sylvia Madsack set up a foundation to promote journalistic projects.
