Luisa Neubauer

Luisa-Marie Neubauer, born in 1996 in Hamburg, is one of Germany's best-known climate activists and one of the key organizers of Fridays for Future. Since 2018, she has significantly shaped the German climate movement and played a central role in the major school strikes and mass protests of 2018 and 2019. Beyond her activism, she publishes books and articles, often in collaboration with journalists and scientists, and also works internationally on texts concerning climate movement strategy.
Neubauer regularly publishes on climate policy, democracy, and social developments and uses her strong online presence to convey political demands and mobilizations to young target audiences. At the same time, she functions as a mediator between the climate movement, science, and the public, and is one of the most visible voices of German climate policy.
She frequently appears in talk shows and public debates, lives in Berlin, and has been in a relationship with journalist and moderator Louis Klamroth since 2023. Her cousin Carla Reemtsma also actively engages in the climate movement and worked for a time as a spokesperson for Fridays for Future.
