Kiarash "Kian" Hossainpour is a German financial influencer of iranian/persian descent and co-founder of the podcast "Hoss & Hopf," which has regularly addressed financial and social topics since 2022. He presents himself as an expert in cryptocurrencies and digital financial strategies and generates income through affiliate links for crypto exchanges, advertising revenue from YouTube and other platforms, as well as returns from his own investments.
In "Hoss & Hopf," however, not only financial topics are addressed but increasingly also controversial political and social issues. The spreading of conspiracy theories and populist narratives has been repeatedly criticized, which recently led to the suspension of the podcast's TikTok account. Despite the criticized content, the podcast regularly achieves high rankings in relevant podcast charts.
Hossainpour lives in Dubai and presents himself on social media as a successful entrepreneur with a luxurious lifestyle. According to his own statements, his assets exceed €100 million – estimates put them at between €35 and €50 million. However, this is difficult to verify with publicly available data. Due to his residence in Dubai and a network of companies and foundations in the United Arab Emirates and Switzerland, his assets are spread across jurisdictions with little to no disclosure requirements. This lack of transparency has been repeatedly criticised, and the German banking authority has warned consumers about his financial schemes.
